Data Privacy Notice

All business details shown on HanapBiz — including business name, address, phone number, email, and photos — were voluntarily submitted by the business owner or their authorized representative for the purpose of being listed in this public directory.

If you are the rightful owner and want your information removed, we will delete it immediately upon your request. Send us a message at hanapbiz@gmail.com or use the Edit / Remove Request page and we will take down the listing right after we verify the request.

This page is maintained by the HanapBiz team to explain what information the HanapBiz directory collects and how we use it. It is written in plain language and is not a legal certification.

1. Who we are

HanapBiz is a free, mobile-first directory of local Philippine businesses operated at hanapbiz.online. Contact us anytime at hanapbiz@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

Business listings. Business name, category, location, contact details, photos, and any description you or a business owner submits.
Account data (optional). When you sign in, we store your email and authentication data through our backend provider so you can manage listings, favorites, and reviews.
Usage data. Aggregated events such as searches, listing views, likes, and shares. We use this to improve the directory and to power trending sections.
Device location. Only when you tap "Use my location" on the Nearby page. Coordinates stay on your device and are used to sort results — we do not store them on our servers.
Local storage. We store small items in your browser (favorites, recently viewed, an anonymous device ID for rate limiting).

3. How we use it

Show listings, search results, and nearby businesses.
Prevent abuse and rate-limit expensive requests.
Improve the site (which searches are popular, which pages break).
Reply to reports, edit requests, and support messages.

4. What we do NOT do

We do not sell your personal information.
We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
We do a light manual review of every listing but we do not fully verify or endorse the businesses listed. Please transact at your own risk.

5. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of providers to run HanapBiz:

Backend & authentication — for database, sign-in, and file storage.
Google Maps Platform — for geocoding and the Nearby search. Google's use of data is governed by their own policies.
Email delivery — for transactional emails you request (edit confirmations, support replies).

6. Data retention & deletion

All listing details were voluntarily submitted to be part of this public directory. Listings stay published until the rightful owner asks us to remove them via the Edit / Remove Request page or by emailing hanapbiz@gmail.com. Once we confirm the request comes from the rightful owner, the listing and its personal details are deleted immediately from our database. Aggregate usage events are kept only as long as needed to power trending and abuse-prevention features.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to correct or delete information about you or your business at any time by contacting hanapbiz@gmail.com. We aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.

8. Children

HanapBiz is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. Material changes will be noted with a new "Last updated" date at the top.
